Many Faces. One Dream. (MFOD) will touch down in Atlanta as one of 13 cities throughout the country that have a significant LGBT presence in communities of color. Read the full press release here.

Bishop O.C. Allen III of The Vision Church of Atlanta; R. Darlene Hudson, Founding Member of the Atlanta Black LGBT Coalition; and Dr. Kenneth L. Samuel of The Victory for the World Church are the Convening Partners for the Atlanta leg of the Tour.  The host hotel is the Atlanta Marriott Marquis located at 265 Peachtree Center Ave NE  in Atlanta.

As a mecca for people of color and LGBT awareness, Atlanta enjoys a wealth of untapped talent in the LGBT community. There’s no better time than now for LGBT communities of color to create and sustain their own businesses. That’s why the National Black Justice Coalition and the U.S. Small Business Association have joined forces to host Many Faces. One Dream.

Hon. Kasim Reed | Mayor of Atlanta
“I am pleased to join the U.S. Small Business Administration and the National Black Justice Coalition in welcoming the “Many Faces, One Dream” LGBT Economic Empowerment Tour to the city of Atlanta. Atlanta has long been known for encouraging entrepreneurship and embracing all people, regardless of their race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. As such, it’s appropriate that our city host this event to foster economic opportunity among LGBT people of color. Entrepreneurship and innovation in this community helps our entire city thrive and remain competitive.”

“We are pleased to be a host city of the ‘Many Faces. One Dream’ tour and Small Business Marketplace. The SBA strives to support all segments of the small business community. The Marketplace will be a venue for LGBT-owned businesses of color to learn about and begin to access the resources and tools needed to grow and sustain their enterprises.”

Bishop O.C. Allen, III | The Vision Church
“Economic Empowerment is when an oppressed community moves from consumer to producer. NBJC is challenging us to make our history of survival become our story of success. So let us unite so our gifts, resources and potential can become our wealth.”

Darlene Hudson | Atlanta Black LGBT Coalition

“The Many Faces. One Dream. LGBT Economic Empowerment Tour comes at a critical time as we recover as a country from the largest economic crisis since the Great Depression. The National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC) should be commended for its partnership with the U.S. Small Business Association to plant the seed for economic growth within the Black LGBT community. For visionaries with entrepreneurial ambitions, it is time to launch those new businesses. For individuals already in business, it is time to take it to the next level. I am excited to be working with NBJC on this project, which should give us all HOPE that we can achieve our American dream.”

The Rev. Dr. Kenneth Samuel | Victory for the World Church
“The Many Faces. One Dream. Tour is significant because when a movement for freedom begins to finance itself through its own economic empowerment, barriers and phobias are destined to fall. The economic empowerment of the disenfranchised is the force that makes all kinds of discrimination unsustainable.”
